Have A Muddy Weekend!

6 Jul

What are you up to this weekend? Any interesting plans for the summer? A group of us from CrossFit 310 will be running Tough Mudder up on Big Bear mountain tomorrow morning. I’m nervous yet excited at the same time. I’ve never done this kind of mileage on foot before (running or walking), so it’ll be pretty interesting to see how it all unfolds. I’m a little intimidated by the ice pool and the electric shock, but I know we’ll come out on top. Anyway, have a great weekend! Here are some posts from around the web . . .

Hey guys. What are you up to this “holiday” weekend? I’m going Standup Paddleboarding (again) in Long Beach tomorrow, but this time in a marina, so no crazy waves or possible shark attacks. Then in the evening, I’m going to picnic and watch Labyrinth at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Besides moving a few of my remaining belongings out of my house on Sunday, it should be a pretty relaxing weekend. Hopefully for you too! Here are some posts from around the web . . . . .

CrossFit Redondo was kind enough to let me stop by and shoot their CrossFit for Hope fundraiser last weekend. They were able to raise $6,782, which is huge for a brand-spaking-new affiliate. They’re in the top 50 affiliates who raised money, ranking at number 34. I know I linked my readers to their donation page, so if you did in fact donate, I wanted to say thank you so, so, so much! Once again, the CrossFit community and its unwaivering support for causes bigger than itself never ceases to impress and humble me. Congratulations to CrossFit Redondo for a job well done!

Hello friends! What are your plans for this lovely weekend? This is the first weekend in 4 months that I don’t have homework! The semester finished on Wednesday – My professor skimmed over my research paper and told me I got an A in the class, so needless to say I’m feeling pretty weightless at the moment. PLUS, I’m really excited to be taking pictures tomorrow at CrossFit Redondo for their CrossFit for Hope fundraiser. I’ll post them next week. Anyway, have a great weekend and here are some posts from around the web . . . . . . .

Happy Friday guys! What are your plans for the weekend? I’m doggy / house sitting for my friends in Santa Monica. They have a rooftop patio, so you know I’ll be up there soaking up some sun. But before I indulge in pleasure, I have to finish fine-tuning my research paper that’s due Wednesday. If I get an A on it, I will continue with my 4.0 GPA. Note: This is the 1st semester in my college career that I didn’t have a total meltdown writing essays. I’m pretty proud of that, and I think I owe it to CrossFit! Anyway, I hope you all have a stellar weekend, and here are some posts from around the web . . . . . .

Published in WOD Talk Magazine!

18 May

Hey guys! Happy Friday! First: I’m so excited to announce that WOD Talk, the CrossFit Lifestyle Magazine, achieved their Kickstarter last month, which enabled them to go to print!

“WOD Talk is a lifestyle magazine for people who train using CrossFit, which is a core strength and conditioning program. WOD stands for Workout of the Day!!! Each issue provides educational information from experts in the fields of fitness, nutrition and sports psychology as well as motivational success stories.”

This is huge for the CrossFit community, because as it grows (and it’s growing mighty fast), so will desire for content. I know we’ve almost completely submerged into a digital society, but it’s still nice to have print. That being said, I had the opportunity to contribute to the magazine for their May issue. Not only did I contribute an article, but a photo I shot at CrossFit 310 as well. I love being able to capture the essence of what makes CrossFit so. f’ing. awesome. SO, if you haven’t already, subscribe! They have a digital subscription for $10 per year or you can get print & digital for $35 per year.

What are your plans this weekend? Tonight I’ll be donating blood to the Red Cross for CrossFit 310’s blood drive & 2 year anniversary party. I’m so honored to celebrate 310 and everything we’ve accomplished in the past year. Also, I’m going to see Roger Waters at the L.A. Colosseum Saturday night, followed by a research paper & a marketing power point. I don’t know how I manage, but I seem to pack a lot into one weekend. I hope you have a great weekend and here are some posts from around the web . . . .

What are you up to this weekend? So far, the weather report promises sun, which I absolutely NEED in my life right now! As for me, well, I’m at the tail end of the semester, so I’ll be knocking out more homework. Fortunately I read the book we’re doing our research paper on before school started, so I don’t have to scramble too much. I really want to WOD, but in addition to my hand injury (which seems to slowly be getting better, finally), it seems I’ve now injured my foot during double-unders! Holy cow, I can’t seem to catch a break lately. Maybe the Universe is trying to tell me something? Anyway, here are some posts from around the web….
