CrossFit for Hope in Photos

15 Jun

CrossFit Redondo was kind enough to let me stop by and shoot their CrossFit for Hope fundraiser last weekend. They were able to raise $6,782, which is huge for a brand-spaking-new affiliate. They’re in the top 50 affiliates who raised money, ranking at number 34. I know I linked my readers to their donation page, so if you did in fact donate, I wanted to say thank you so, so, so much! Once again, the CrossFit community and its unwaivering support for causes bigger than itself never ceases to impress and humble me. Congratulations to CrossFit Redondo for a job well done!

Wet Hot American Summer

3 May

{Sources: 1: Unknown, 2, 3}

The summer is just about here, and I could not be anymore grateful! L.A. has been a tad gloomy the past few weeks, so I’m more ready than ever for the sunshine. Spring semester finishes the first week of June and after that it’s all fun under the sun for me (besides my day job, of course): Tough Mudder, the CrossFit Games, stand-up paddleboarding, more footie matches, Club Mini, the summer concert series in Hermosa Beach, Shakespeare by the Sea, reggae night at the Hollywood Bowl, classic movies in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, photography, a possible trip to DC?, wine tastings at Rosenthal in Malibu, volleyball Saturdays, trail runs …. I could go on. I just know this summer is going to be the best yet. How about you? What are your plans for the summer? xo

2012 CrossFit Winter Shakedown Competition in Photos

21 Feb

This past weekend I went to the Winter Shakedown Competition at CrossFit FAST in Westlake Village to support our team from CrossFit 310 & to snap some photos of all the fantastic athletes that came out to compete. It was a great turn out, and the event ran smoothly. They even let me inside the athlete ring to snap photos during the 1st WOD! I bought some tanks from Life AsRx, ran into & met the co-owner of WOD Gear (Gabriel Pelino) at Starbucks, who is a totally sweet guy, and I (and pretty much everyone else) also drooled over Andrea Ager’s (pictured first below) quads and sweet rope descent. Major congratulations to our 310 team Brook Epperson, Jason Tank, Brittny Burford & Graham Burford! Our gym’s continued success is a joy to watch.  – Rebecca The Red
