There Are Things You Just Can’t Do

6 Jan

Because there has been and always will be a balance: of light and dark, of positive and negative, of big and small, of highs and lows, of triumph and failure, and so on……. Each has their purpose. Without cannots, cans would cease to exist.

The problem however is not about what we can’t do, it’s about what we can do, but think we cannot.

We’ve been under a spell of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failing, fear of anything-we-can-think-of-fearing. This fear clouds our vision, our minds, and our hearts. It prevents us from seeing the truth: the truth about the world, and the truth about ourselves. The truth is we can do so much more than we thought was possible. Of all the millions of things we cannot do, there are equally a million things we can. So the mission is this: We need to change our focus – shift our consciousness from the can’t to the can. When we do this, we’ll watch in amazement as our lives change right before our eyes.

This wonderful post makes me think of the quote – argue for your limitations and you will win everytime…thank you for the reminder.

Truer words were never spoken. There are many obstacles that present themselves to us every single day. At times in our lives, it’s easier to bow to these obstacles instead of focusing on overcoming them. And it’s all about the circumstances at the time you are in the situation. Something that would never have phased me back in my 20’s would now be something that I wouldn’t even attempt. But it shouldn’t be that way. It should be a life-long committment to challenging oneself and really seeing what we’re made of. The more you can adopt that can-do attitude, the more confidence you will have in yourseld. Speaking as a personal friend, I would say that you have overcome obstacles that I see as very challenging. You meet them head on and always give 110%.
And nobody can EVER expect someone to not have days when there are doubts and fears. There will be those days (sometimes weeks…months) then you just get back on that horse and ride on!

I had a similar thought when I sat down to write this blog entry. About that fearless, invincible feeling we have as kids, or in our “younger” years. We seem to lose it overtime and cower in our own shadow. That’s all about to change though.

I think it changes as we get older because we’ve had more disappointments as we’ve lived. And we tend to fear that disappointment happening again and shy away from new adventures. It’s easy to say “it’s better to have loved and lost” or other similar sayings, but our memories and feelings tie things together in a much different way.
